Nice products, slow support

I ordered a Nambu Tekki ironware teapot and some Matcha bowls. The items themselves are truly beautiful and feel very authentic, just like advertised. They were packaged extremely well, no issues with breakage even coming from Japan. Shipping took around 10 days, which is reasonable for international. My only small issue was with customer service. I had a question about care instructions and it took nearly three days to get a response. Not a huge deal, but could be faster. Overall happy with the purchase and quality.

Good value on gift set

I was looking for a unique gift and found a beautiful Edo Kiriko glassware set on Becos. The price seemed high at first, but I signed up for their newsletter and got 1000 Yen off my first order, which really helped. It felt like a good deal after that discount. Shipping took about a week to get to me in Texas, which was fine. The quality was excellent, definitely felt worth what I paid.

Is becos stuff actually legit? Like, the real deal handmade Japanese crafts? Or is it more like touristy knockoffs you find everywhere?

B Beth B. 2 months ago
Totally legit. I bought a Nambu Tekki tea kettle and it's amazing quality, definitely not some cheap imitation. You can tell it's handcrafted.

They really focus on authentic stuff. I've seen other sites that have more mass-produced items, but Becos seems to curate really well from actual artisans.

thinking of getting a kimono robe but worried about sizing. Anyone bought clothes from them? I'm usually a US M/L, not sure what to pick.

R Rachel M. 2 months ago
I got a Yukata from them and just followed their size chart. It seemed pretty accurate. They usually list measurements in cm, so grab a measuring tape!

Yeah, check the product page for specific measurements. Japanese sizing can be a bit different, but they usually have good guides. My tabi socks fit perfectly based on their chart.

Hey, thinking of getting one of those cool Kiriko glasses for my mom's birthday. Anyone know if they ship to like, New York pretty fast? Her birthday is in about 2 weeks.

I ordered some Arita ware from them to California, and it took about 7-10 days. So two weeks might be cutting it close, but it's possible.

Yeah, I'd say plan for at least a week to ten days, maybe a bit more with customs. They do ship from Japan after all. My order to Texas was like 9 days.

I'm looking at a couple of things, a katana letter opener and a nice ceramic bowl. Can I use that newsletter signup discount on both items in one order?

C Chris Doyle 1 month ago
Nah, I tried that with a different coupon. They usually only let you use one discount code per order. You'll probably have to pick which item you want the discount on.

Most of those first-time discounts are single-use per customer, and you can't stack them. Just tried to combine a holiday sale with a newsletter code and it wouldn't work.

does becos do free shipping if you spend over a certain amount? or is it always a flat fee for international shipping?

T Troy Patel 2 months ago
Yeah, they definitely have free international shipping if you hit a certain amount. I think it was like $200 or something when I last ordered? Check their banners, it usually pops up.

I got free shipping on my last order to Canada, but I spent a good bit. Like the other person said, there's usually a threshold.
